So I just ordered an RTX 3060 TI and was wondering if my i5-8400 will be a bottleneck.

Is it worth upgrading to something like a i5-11600K or should I just save my money?

Ideally I would like to save my money but if my CPU will be a problem and prevent the RTX 3060 TI from reaching it's full potential then I will fork out the money.

Solution
Assuming 1080p and more than 60Hz you may be limited by the cpu, going to depend on the game and settings. I would suggest just trying the 3060Ti, you can then decide if the 8400 is enough for you and your games.
As sizzling said, try the 3060 Ti out, and see if you're getting a good enough gaming experience. Its all based on personal preference, if it works, great. if not, then upgrade.

Though, I will say, upgrading to a 11600K is not the best idea, unless you can get one for a killer price. Upgrading to the latest generation would be preferable. or at least something like a 12600K, which is pretty cheap these days.

Ended up upgrading the CPU as well. So I guess this thread won't be necessary anymore. Thanks for the recommemdation!

Btw I did go for the 11600K but at a very good price. The benchmarks are looking promising.
