Will my i5 8400 significantly bottleneck the RTX 2080?

Just preordered the RTX 2080 and now wondering if my CPU might bottleneck it by a lot.

I don't really want to upgrade my CPU as I'm already using under the recommended power supply wattage (at 600w) but if I need to I will.

I'm currently using a 1080p 144hz monitor and that won't be changing for year or two.

The 8400 will do a good job and be stretched to its max by the 2080..not a bad thing, of course the 8600K and the 8700K will be better but it wont be a huge difference as the GPU will be doing most of the heavy lifting. Just wait until you are ready to upgrade the CPU as the choices will be better with the 9700, 9800 and 9900K just around the corner. Just out of interest, what GPU are you currently using?

Thanks, i'm currently using the i5 8400's integrated GPU. I sold my 1070 a month ago thinking that its' value would dramatically decrease after the RTX lineup announcement, but i guess i was wrong.

No problems at all and it should be interesting to see how much of a beast the RTX 2080 is..I'm sure it's going to great...your lucky..
