Hi folks. I would like to buy GPU gtx 1050 ti 2 gb and I would like to play games, however I have i5 second gen 2410m Dell l511z laptop ( connecting gpu to laptop via external gpu dock) and Im affraid of huge performance drop. So I ask you if you could help me decide and tell me if there will be a huge bottleneck cause I would like to play new games like ACC oddisey, shadow of tomb raider ect... ( with medium/high 1366×768 resolution settings 30/60 fps) Please provide me with a lot of information...

My laptop specs Dell (l511z):
CPU: I5 2410m 2.30 GHZ dual core (4 threats)
Gpu 1: intel hd 3000
Gpu2 : Gt 525m
RAM: 4 GB (for now Im going for 12 gb)
Windows: 10 Pro 64bit
Storage: SSD 128 GB (Im going to upgrade with HDD 500 gb with SSD)

Questions:
1. Will be there huge bottleneck
2. Will I be able to run lastest games with settings provided up in text...
3. Is it worth it...
4. Other GPU to recomend to run lastest games...
5. Will there be bottleneck if Im using external gpu...

P.S: dont tell me to buy new laptop that irritates me so much...

You may be able to play some older games (before 2018) but that CPU is really going to limit you for smooth gameplay. What is your budget for the GPU & dock?

I don't know if this helps. But in my city you could throw a trashy used desktop gaming rig together for that much. I know I have. Its not exactly easy, but there are vids about how you too can accomplish the feat all over the yootoobs. Not a big fan of laptop gaming.
