Will my Intel 6th series C200 chipset work on new motherboards?

This is going to make me sound extremely dumb, but what motherboards support my Intel 6 series C200 chipset? I currently have a Sandy Bridge motherboard, but I'm on amazon looking at all these "skylake" mobos and such. Here are my specs:

Processor: Intel i3-2100 Processor
Chipset: Intel 6 Series C200
Motherboard: Sandy Bridge
CPU Socket: LGA 1155 (2011 version)

I apologize for sounding like a complete newbie, but I'm not too familiar with motherboards. Will my processor work on motherboards such as these?

If not, what will my processor be compatible with? Does it have to be Sandy Bridge? I'm not familiar with any new gaming sandy bridge motherboards, so links would be appreciated.

Will my processor work on a B150? Or is it strictly for C200 mobos?

Look for LGA 1155 motherboards.

I cant even find the C200 chipset https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_chipsets . But if you want to use the i3-2100 which is on the 1155 socket you will need a MB with H61 B65 Q65 P67 H67 Q67 Z68 B75 Q75 Z75 H77 Q77 Z77 chipsets.

Every socket is different so the Skylake wouldn't even fit. You need a new motherboard and ram if you want to go with skylake

Why are you interested in a new motherboard?
You will get no performance benefit by installing your i3-2100 in any other compatible motherboard.

I just want a newer motherboard, that's all. My current one is very old, and I'm just slowly upgrading my PC parts one by one. As long as it's anything newer than my current one (around 2010-2011) then i'm happy.

What is the difference between LGA 1150 and LGA 1155 ?

That might be as strong as a I7-3770K.

There is NO value in any other lga1155 motherboard that is worthwhile.

If you want a new motherboard, plan on a new cpu to go with it; ram too.
kaby lake processors(gen 7) will run on lga1151 motherboards.

I'll look into a new mobo once I get a better CPU. Might as well save some money.

your kinda at a standstill. You cant get a new CPU without a motherboard and that requires DDR4 ram also. So you will need a do a all at once upgrade.

Yeah, i'm planning on buying a cpu, mobo, and ram all at the same time so I'm not waiting on certain parts.
