I want to put an SSD on my old laptop and I'm opting for a cheap Sandisk SSD Plus but I'm still unsure if my laptop can take an SSD. It's a Dynabook B452/22FM with an Intel Mobile H70 MOBO and my current HDD is a Toshiba MQ01ABD032. According to this link: https://dynabook.com/pc/catalog/satellit/120619b452/spec.htm it can take a 128 GB SSD (Serial ATA compatible). I'm not capable enough to buy a new laptop since I'm only in high school but an SSD would be nice. Would the SSD be compatible?

Solution
that is a SATA 2.0 hard drive. Assuming that is the standard any SSD with a SATA interface in the 2.5 inch format will work, even over 128GB.
I suggest you get the cheapest SSD you can get, the limiting factor is the SATA 2.0 interface. Do not spend $$ on a fast drive.
suggestion of what to look for only not endorsements shop around.

the base speeds on this drive are higher than the SATA 2.0 (300Mbps)

these were the cheapest I could find in each size

Solution

Okay so I googled SATA 6.0 gb/s and it said that it's basically SATA 3.0? My motherboard's SATA is SATA 6.0 gb/s so that does that mean I have SATA 3?

I knew the drive specs (toshiba), and went from there assuming the specs were the same on the motherboard speedwise. SATA 3.0 has a speed limit of 600MBps (6.0Gbps) SATA 2.0 has a limit of 300MBps (3.0Gbps), any of the drives I listed can almost fill that bus (600MBps) and are still fine drives.
I did not want you to spend $$ on a something not used.

I see. The Sandisk SSD Plus is actually the cheapest available SSD in my country so I chose it. The other two drives you suggest are similar to the SSD Plus right? The first one isn't available in my country.

the Sandisk SSD plus has rating in the range of read 530MB/write 440MBs for the 240GB SSD. its faster than the first SSD which unless you are stuck with SATA 2.0 3.0Gbps it should not be an option.
the Sandisk is a good drive. enjoy.
