Hi I am planning to buy a korean 27" 1440p IPS panel and thus interested to know if there will be issues with running 1440p resolution on my laptop's h7670m card, most importantly it has to be able to view 1080p/1440p videos on youtube smoothly. thanks!

Solution
it is a capable enough gpu. and as long as it is paired with a decent cpu you wont have problems.

The new UVD3 video decoder supports the decoding of MPEG-4 AVC/H.264, VC-1, MPEG-2, Flash and now also Multi-View Codec (MVC) and MPEG-4 part 2 (DivX, xVid) HD videos on the graphics card.

caution in order to run an external 1440p monitor the laptop will need dual link dvi or display pot. with just an hdmi you will be limited to 1200p.

my laptop is running on i5-3230m 2.6Ghz with 8GB RAM.
my laptop only has a VGA and HDMI port, i thought the new HDMI versions are able to support 1440p?
I have a HDMI 1.4 cable and its supposedly able to support 4k resolutions
