Will my lenovo g 50-30 use full speed of my samsung evo 860 ?

I need to know if my lenovo g 50-30 will use te full speed of my new ssd evo 860
My lenovo came with Hdd 500 gb .. i will replace that hdd with the new ssd evo 860
But i dnt know if that sata port is sata 2 or sata 3 ?
Ps : my lenovo g50-30 had 1 usb sata3

The Lenovo MB runs SATA 300 which is SATA 3.0 Gb/S which is also referred to as SATA II.

the drive is SATA III.....so it will run at half speed.

....but it still will be way faster than your HDD.

SATA and USB are two different things. You can have SATA 2 and USB 3 together.

Thats why i asked .. because i see that i have usb 3 in my lenovo. I wndr why they didnt put sata 3 in Hdd place ? So i can link it with my new ssd ??

USB 3.0 was released earlier than SATA III.....so maybe that's why.

....but yes....you can hook it up and it should work.

It will still be much faster than your HDD.
