Someone told me that the power supply in that machine is the one I should get, and I am wondering if I could use a cheaper power supply instead without my machine getting damaged, such as this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1UH4R24268&cm_re=evga_430_watt-_-17-438-015-_-Product

What do you think? I will use this as a gaming computer.

Solution
You do not want to skimp on the most important part, in your system, which is the power supply. That Seasonic is a much better choice. You can get a 550w gold rated seasonic, for not much more, right now, also.

Power Supply: SeaSonic G 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($59.99 @ Newegg)

What graphics card do you intend to use.

Solution
The real question is...is it worth risking all your other hardware to save $13?

It wont necessarily "explode", it's just that lower quality parts were used to assemble that model PSU and it has a higher likely to fail. When a PSU fails there is always a chance it will take other components with it. Consider the PSU the heart of the machine, you want a strong heart.

I see no reason for that PSU to explode.
It is made by Seasonic, and the rest of the system will not be pulling much power at all.
If the PSU was overloaded or overheated, it would simply shut down.
However, like the other people before me pointed out, a better PSU is worth it as it gives you room to add in a graphics card or more peripherals. It is also likely to last longer, but I doubt this will be an issue as most reliable power supplies will last for years.
