[SOLVED] Will my motherboard accept this m.2 ssd?

This is the m.2 ssd I was looking to upgrade my 10 year old hard drive.

See Section 11., Page 1-31 (English version) regarding M.2 Socket 3.

Section 2.6.3 should also be read.

(Verify that I did indeed find the correct motherboard User Manual.)

The Amazon link is worth a look but I strongly suggest an additional verification or two.

It will run, but at much reduced speed than what the actual drive is capable of.


Additionally, that Z97 board may not be capable of booting from that drive.
If it is, it will require the latest BIOS update to do so.

Yeah that's a big concern in two different ways the possibility of not being able to boot from the m.2 is a big concern for sure. And not being able to take advantage of the speed as well seems like a bit of a waste until Im able to upgrade my motherboard. I would preferentially consider the Samsung 860 EVO instead of the QVO.
Or, the Crucial MX500
