hello,
iam planning to buy a Zotac GeForce GTX 1050 Ti..
but i have doubt that my Motherboard or Processor will bottleneck the Graphics Card..
so my question is my Processor or Motherboard can handle Zotac GeForce GTX 1050 Ti ??

here is my system specs :

Motherboard > ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. P8H61-M LX R2.0

Processor > Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU G630 @ 2.70GHz, 2700 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)

BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc.
PS: iam still a noob..😛

Solution
it can handle it, but big bottleneck bound to happen
i had a G850 (stronger than urs) + 1050ti before im changing to this i5 2400, here's my fps then:
CSGO low: 50-80
GTA high-low mix (no effects like MSAA etc): 20-60, if u cap it at 30 fps the game will be smoother
Dota high: 40-70 but doesn't use any effects other than animated hero profile
Skyrim Ultra no mod no effects: ~60 fps most of the times
Payday maxed with mixed effects: 60-90

yes there's big bottleneck there, since im playing at 768p and only get that much, but that's a massive performance increase from my old GT 630 (which barely run Payday2 on low, got 21-27 fps with it)

ur mobo can handle it > PCIe is backward compatible, just like USB's version
ur proc will bottleneck...

ur proc will bottleneck it but performance increase will still happens

suggestion: after getting the GPU, get a new CPU ASAP (2/3 gen i5 is a viable choice, at least get something like my i5 2400 so the bottleneck can be minimized)

Solution

so i only have to buy a new i5 proc ..
my motherboard is good right ?

yes it's still enough, don't get a K version CPU though, as your H61 mobo can't OC anyway
u can try searching for a used i5 from some good reviewed sellers online, should get a cheaper price
