Will my motherboard support new hard drive

hey guys i have a custom built computer and the motherboard is a biostar TA880GB+. I am trying to upgrade my hard drive to a 1TB Western Digital WD1002FAEX Black Edition. the hard drive is SATA 3 6.0 gb/s. I plugged in the SATA cable and the power cable and started up my computer but when i checked My Computer it says i only have one hard drive available which is my old drive not the new one. any help would be appreciated thanks guys!

Can you check if it is recognized by the BIOS?

Check the BIOS to see if the SATA port is turned on. In some systems not all the SATA ports are active.
