I have a AMD Ryzen 7 2700 CPU and a Gigabyte B450 D3SH motherboard with AM4 socket. Will it support Ryzen 9 3800 processor?

It will almost certainly support next gen cpus, with a bios update, but may or may not support pcie gen 4.0, a new adition to the new chipset. Pcie 4.0 is entirely unnecesarry though, and any gpu will be fully compatible with your pcie 3.0 motherboard.

AMD stated in the very beginning all AM4 CPU's produced up to 2020 would be supported on 1st gen boards so yes a 2nd gen board should support 3000 series Ryzen. The only question is how long it will take to get a BIOS update for it.

Could be wrong but seems like bios updates are already available going by Agesa code.

https://www.techpowerup.com/253954/...reveals-new-options-for-overclocking-tweaking

ASUS and MSI began rolling out BIOS updates with AGESA-Combo 0.0.7.x microcode

Checked an Asus board, support for new Ryzen cpus Agesa micro code 0070

Gigabyte F30 Agesa 0072

Makes sense?
