Will my Motherboard support this CPU

So I bought an X5640 Workstation processor and I'm wondering if it will support my HP 2820h motherboard
Both of them are LGA775

If both have the same socket, they should work just fine!

But i couldn't find the socket of CPU only the MOBO's so i can't say for sure they will. Are you sure that's your CPU's model?

That board is not compatible with any Intel Xeon processor. See this table:
