Hi all,

After a long time of having my old pc, I decided to build a new one with all the experience I've learned in the past years.

I know most components will work together, though I have a couple of questions.
If you notice someone not right about the build or could be better, please let me know.
1. Will the 7200mhz CL34 work with the i7 13700k?
2. Is the MSI 4070 TI GAMING X TRIO good comparison to speed, noise & cooling?
Perhaps a different 4070 TI would be better?
3. Will the NZXT vertical gpu mount be a good option is the H7 case, or would the cooling be worse (case perhaps too small)?
4. Would 850 WATT be enough for this build?
5. Worth waiting for the i7 14700k & new motherboard?
6. Do the Corsair Premium PSU Kit & Lian Li cables work with the PSU and other components?
I would like to have rgb cables going to my GPU & Motherboard.
I've read that it's dangerous to plug in different cable brands into the PSU, is that true?
Do the Lian Li match with the corsair psu?

PC Specs:

- MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ti GAMING X TRIO 12G
- ASUS ROG STRIX Z790-H
- Intel Core i7 13700K
- Samsung 990 PRO 2TB M.2 SSD
- NZXT H7 Elite 2023 Black Midi Tower
- NZXT Kraken 360 RGB Black
- Corsair DDR5 Vengeance RGB 2x16GB 7200
- Corsair RM850x PSU / PC voeding
- NZXT Vertical GPU Mounting Kit
- Corsair Premium Individually Sleeved PSU Pro Kit
- Lian Li STRIMER Plus V2 24-Pin
- Lian Li STRIMER Plus V2 8-Pin

Thank you.

Best regards.

1| I would advise on going lower on the memory frequency. How much are you paying for the ram kit anyway?
2| Depends, what do you have access to besides the MSI card listed above?
3| I'd avoid vertical riser cards since I'm old school, needing to minimize cables/connectors/adapters.
4| Yes
5| If I were you, yes I'd wait.

Hi,

Thank you for your response.

The RAM cost me 145 euro.
Price for different speed is not so huge.

I was also looking at a 4070 ti asus strix oc.

Best regards.

A nice top end build.

My thoughts:

1. Specs say 7200(oc) is supported.
But, on ram, do not chase high ram speeds for gaming.
In particular for a Intel processor.

2. I am no expert on graphics cards, your selection looks reasonable to me.

3. The natural airflow of the case will do best with the graphics card in the normal orientation.
Of course, you could experiment. I would not expect any real difference with either orientation.

4. 850W should be sufficient. But modern graphics cards can have high power spikes that a 1000w psu should be able to handle better.
Going from 850w to 1000w should not be a big price difference. A psu will only use the power demanded of it, regardless of the max capability.
RMx will be excellent quality. Look at Seasonic focus/prime also.

5. Worth is something only YOU can determine.
Leaks indicate perhaps a slight bump in clocks compared to the 13700k.
Early adopter prices may be jacked up.
If you want more performance, why not buy the 13900K instead?

6. I am always Leary about replacing important components like psu cables.
I would not just to get RGB bling.

I am also now questioning how much value one gets from a top aio cooler.
They do not last forever. In time the mechanical pump fails or gets clogged.
Air will intrude through the tubes.
Consider an aio as a 5 year rental.

Then also, how important is heat to a gaming system?

Or, in text form:

You might find a simple noctua NH-D15s to be simpler, quieter, more reliable.
