HI i have a 3x 4 gig like this
I have 12 gig ram 12.0GB Triple-Channel DDR3 @ 534MHz (8-7-7-20) corsaire dominator cmp12gx3m3a1600c9 999-24 1,65 ver 2,12a 12gb 3x4gb 1600mhz

i look forward to get a i5 4590 with one of those mobo b85 from this site https://spcpshop.com/collections/all/intel-b85

now my old 3x4 gb is triple channel and i read that s can be seen from the i5-4590 memory parameter support, this CPU only supports DDR3 1333/1600mhz dual-channel memory and does not support DDR4 memory. i
i read for this site https://topic.alibabacloud.com/a/can-i5-4590-support-ddr4-memory_8_8_10228888.html

i read somewhere else it would need to be a hybrid mobo .. and somewhere else that there is no probleme ..

can I have a couple of confirmations and like , proofs plz

Solution
wich mobo are you talking about? i feel it is better to get a mobo not used.

60 usd for 4590
120? usd for mobo or 64 used
ddr3 16g 80 usd
total260 usd

im not sure i made good choices but it comes to 281 usd

we could say they are the same price. it seems like ddr4 is an advantage and more recent means better chance of long support. what other advantage do you see? 4590 has more l3 cache

As far as I know there are no hybrid DDR3/DDR4 MBs, but your DDR3 should run on that MB although at 1066MHz only.

Your ram will work in the B85 motherboard, but the motherboard only supports dual channel mode. You will be running in slower single channel mode with 3x4GB install, because dual channel requires 2 or 4 modules to be installed to activate dual channel mode.

The B85 motherboard supports up to maximum 1600 ram like your 3x4GB kit. If you install 2 modules from your kit, you only have to activate the XMP setting for 1600 CL9-9-9-24. If you still need 12-16GB, you should buy a new 2x8GB 1600 CL9 memory kit and sell your 3x4GB to help cover the cost.

RAM rarely dies, if you have reputable seller to which you can return, no problem. Once you install it you can check it with various programs,. For instance https://www.memtest86.com/

There are not many options for LGA 1150 motherboards for that i5 unless you are buying all used parts. How much money is the i5-4590 going to cost you? How much can you budget for motherboard CPU and 2x8GB?

You may be looking at a situation where it might make more sense to save for a bit longer and buy a new AMD B450 motherboard, Ryzen 3 3200G or 3100 and 2x8GB ram for around $300-390 CAD.

It sounds you are just looking to get a system working with this processor and memory you have, with an inexpensive motherboard. Don't worry too much, go ahead and use the existing 3 sticks.

The memory controller is actually pretty flexible. You will get dual channel speeds to the first 8GB of memory and single channel access to the last 4GB. Better to have 12GB with some of it a bit slower than just the 8 at full speed.

These are USD prices, but I gave pricing for CAD in my previous post, because you had mentioned amazon.ca and newegg.ca.

As for what you picked, as long as you don't want to overclock much in the future or use better than an 8 core 16 thread CPU, the Gigabyte motherboard should be ok. I would have picked either an ASrock B450 Pro 4 (or B450M version) or any MSI B450(M) Max motherboards, but if price is important the Gigabyte you picked will work fine.

The memory paired with the Ryzen 3 3200G is unlikely to run higher than 3466, because of memory controller and motherboard limitations. Getting DDR4 3600 only makes sense if you were buying the Ryzen 3 3100, R3 3300X or other Ryzen 3000 CPUs using Zen2 cores (the 3000G series CPUs are based on Ryzen 2000 Zen+ cores.) You should be able save money getting slower DDR4 3200 2x8GB CL16-18-18-36 ram. You likely won't notice much difference in performance between 3200 and 3600.

The Ryzen 3 3200G has graphics on the CPU so you won't need a GPU, but it's very weak and only good for 720p or lower resolution and low graphics in most games. The 3200G is also only a 4 core 4 thread CPU, so you may want to get a 4c8t or 6c12t CPU to avoid needing an upgrade sooner. If you get any CPU that isn't a G model you will require a GPU. If you want a 6 core 12 thread CPU, I wouldn't buy less than a Ryzen 5 2600 or 1600AF (same as the 2600, but slightly slower.) The Ryzen 3 3100 is about as fast or slightly faster per core as the R5 2600, but the 3300X is faster with CPU cores as fast as the R7 3700X. Both the 3100 and 3300X are 4c8t CPUs. Buy the R5 2600 if the R3 3100 is more expensive

The CPU cooler should be fine for Ryzen 3 or 5.
