Will my old motherboard support the rx470?

Solution
Only that it is approximately 6 years older than the card you want to install.

It will likely work.

You can see if anyone managed to get an RX480/RX470/RX460 in the board working. Usually people prowling around on the Dell forums that will post failures and success.
Short Answer: Yes

Long Answer: It depends on your case size, and the PSU you have. Even then, depending on your processor and amount of ram it may not perform well due to bottlenecks.

Intel X58? Shouldn't be much of an issue performance wise, minimum CPU there should be pretty decent.

No absolute guarantee with an OEM board though. These newer GPUs have some issues even with Sandy and Ivy Bridge boards. Really intended for UEFI bios.

Check for the latest BIOS updates and just make sure you can return the card.

Well I tried contacting dell , but they are quite hard to reach and seeing as this is their motherboard I would expect them to know how to deal with this. I checked the latest BIOS and it was published in 2011, does this mean anything?
