Will my old processor work in a new motherboard?

Specifically, I have a Pentium 4 with HT (processor number 530), sitting in an old Intel D915GEV motherboard. And recently, either my power supply or that motherboard has started having problems and I'm looking to replace them, motherboard first to see if it will fix the problem. I'm not a big overclocker or performance player. I just like to build my own stuff. I'm looking to get a motherboard that will allow me to, later in the year, upgrade the processor to one of the 45nm ones. On Wikipedia, I saw mention that any motherboard which claims Core 2 Duo support will support a Pentium 4, but at the various motherboard manufacturer websites, I haven't seen this same claim.

Specifically, I'm looking to buy either an Intel DP35DP (P35 chipset) or an ASUS P5K-E (also P35 chipset). The pros and cons between them are that the Intel board has DDR3 support but does not claim P4 support, while the ASUS board explicitly claims P4 support but no DDR3 support. Any thoughts here?

Given the current price of DDR3, I don't think it's worth considering. Within 12 to 18 months both Intel is supposed to come out with new boards, coming to the end of the 775, and I believe that would be the time that DDR3 begins a realistic option so I'd go with the ASUS. While Intel makes solid, reliable boards, at least the older ones give you very limited BIOS options.

I actually just placed an order on the Gigabyte DS3L. It was the lowest price point with everything I need from a company I trust.
