I have a monitor that is 2560x1440 capable. My pc build that i am thinking of doing right now is with a GTX 780 GPU 3GB . Would it support this display? Also would a standard HDMI be enough would it require a special cable. I dont intend to use it for gaming but for Video editing software like Adobe CC mainly premiere and AE.

Also and i dont know if its necessary to tell but my
CPU is a 4930k Intel i7 6-core
MB- Asus X79-DELUXE LGA2011/ Intel X79/ DDR3/ Quad CrossFireX & 3-Way SLI/ SATA3&USB3.0/ WiFi/ A&2GbE/ ATX Motherboard

Thanks for any help in advance :)

Solution
yes it will support 1440p, it will support 4k in fact. the gtx 780 and the 4930k are a bit old and you shouldn't get them unless you can find good deals for them. Is this your current build or are you building it? Put your build together on pcpartpicker.com for the best deals on parts

Hey thanks for the reply. Ya I am getting a really good deal on it. What gpu would you suggest for the Adobe workload. I want to stick with the recommended GPU by adobe. And workstation GPUs are a lil expensive. So i figured the 780 is the best on the list. https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/system-requirements.html

The gtx 970 or gtx 980 will be better for this application, Trust me, adobe needs to update their recommendations.
