Will my pc overheat if i put it in sleep whilst running a game??

Just a quick question i wanted to ask.So i was just wondering if it is possible for any of my pc components to overheat , if i put my pc on sleep , while running a game or another cpu/graphics intensive application?Since all my fans turn OFF when my pc is in sleep.im running windows 10 btw😉

The game also turns off, since the CPU shuts down. Your components can't overheat.

Your CPU / GFX components will "wake up" if any CPU / GPU applications are running. Yes, you can have your monitor go to sleep but that has no effect on what anything inside the PC case is doing.

Ive actually tested it before , paricularly with gta 5 , i put my pc to sleep ,while gta was running in the background and it was minimized , and all of my fans were off the whole time.After 30min i turned my pc on again and i was able to resume gta normally as if nothing happened.So i was just wondering if my components could overheat during the time my pc is on sleep?

If the PC (not monitor) is asleep, then nothing is going on. The computer for all intents and purposes is off.

If you force a sleep ... then nothing is happening. Try this:

1. Open task manager after starting ya game .... go to performance tab... each box is about 5 seconds as I recall .... now put the machine to sleep.... wait ab0ut 90 seconds and wake it up ... see what the graph looks like.

2. Run Furmark ..... let temp graph level out. Now put machine to sleep, wait 5 minutes and come back. Remember that when you are not moving, your PC isn't doing anything. There's no pixels to redraw so GFX card isn't going anything

3. Run a movie than put machine to sleep, come back 15 minutes later and see where movie is

Not even a slight possibility of that happening. Your PC pretty much dog ears its current state, dumps that into your RAM and brings your PC to a very low power state. It can go into a deeper state of suspension if it hibernates. It'll use less power than sleep mode. Your CPU, GPU and everything else is off. No fans are running. Why? That info is stored in the RAM so the CPU and GPU are off. Try and remove your CPU heatsink and turn your PC on. Simpler yet you can disconnect the CPU's fan cable. Most computers have been programmed not to be suicidal. It will say something about a fan not being detected and it will refuse to start. The PC knows it's sleeping so no need to cool that which is off. Just to be clear I am not suggesting you actually disconnect that cable. Just an example it was.
