Will my PC run this GPU?

I have an AsusTek P8H67-MLX, I know it is not PCI-3 but PCI-2. Will it handle an AMD X R9 280X? I mean the slots, somewhere I read this card uses different pins or slots or something... and that some Mobos only support Nvidia or AMD. I obviouslly don't know a lot about hardware so someone please help?

You can plug a PCIe 3 card into a PCIe 2 slot. The standard in 'backwards compatible.'
But it will only operate at the PCI 2 speed.
It will still be a great upgrade to make.
