Will my PC still boot and show that it is working without a hard drive?

All of my components for my new PC have just arrived, but I am using the same hard drive. The problem is that I can not use this new PC until Christmas, so I was wondering if I built the pc now to check that all the components are fine and working, but left out the hard drive, could I still turn it on and stuff and get a notification that it is all working?

boot logo and settings like press delete to go bios and you won't hear any beep
