My current setup is a ASROCK 970M mobo with FX8350 CPU and 8 gigs of G Skill ripjaws memory in a Antec A900 case on Win 10 Home. I have a Samsung 512gb PRO ssd as well as one DVD drive. My question is I just bought this card https://www.pny.com/gtx-980-4gb-oc. PNY site says the card calls for 500w or greater power supply with a min 12v running at 42a. So I have a pretty old Corsair Professional Series HX620 which has ran like a champ for 7 years! So from Corsairs website it says the following about the tech specs for the HX620.....
"Triple 12V Rails provide independent reliable power to the CPU, video card and other components with a combined rating of 50A (40A on 520W) maximum! Advanced circuitry design that automatically enables power sharing between the triple +12V rails in an event of overload on any single +12V rail."
So me being not too technical savvy I was wondering will my Corsair power supply run my computer reliably with having that monster video card as well as the FX8350 in there. My video card arrives tomorrow and I do not want to plug it in until I get some good advice from you guys. This is my first post so I'm glad to be here!
