I have a corsair cx 750m that I bought in June of 2013. I've been reading some of the reviews on some sites and I'm afraid that some day the power supply is going to fry my whole system. I've been saving up for a while and currently have around 500 dollars. I plan on upgrading my cpu, motherboard and ram but I'm not sure if I should use that money to buy a new power supply. What do you guys think?

That is not a lot and if you have it in a single GPU system then it has not come close to max.
It's not the best psu in the world but I wouldn't say it's dangerous and putting your system at risk. If you plan to upgrade to new likely expensive computer I would say its a good a idea to save a little more and get a new power supply as well. The seasonic I linked is a decent quality cheap pretty cheap psu that will power any modern single GPU setup no problem.

It's been on for at least 6 hours everyday for these past few years. On average I might spend 2 hours per day playing games.
