Will my ram work with my new Z170 motherboard ?

Solution
Your odds are good, but not 100%.
Your link shows a 2 x4gb kit.
I presume you have two such kits.
Ram is sold in kits for a reason.
A motherboard must manage all the ram using the same specs of voltage, cas and speed.
Ram from the same vendor and part number can be made up of differing manufacturing components over time.
Some motherboards can be very sensitive to this.
This is more difficult when 4 sticks are involved.
That is why ram vendors will NOT support ram that is not bought in one kit.

Since your 4 sticks work now, I might guess that they are relatively well matched.

Go to the g.skil ram selection app and enter your motherboard.
You will get a list of supported kits.
If one of your kits is on the list plan on using the ram...

If one of your kits is on the list plan on using the ram. At worst, you will have 8gb.

If 4 sticks has a problem, try increasing the ram voltage in the bios a touch.
