The G31 chipset should support a Q6600. They are so cheap on eBay that it really isn't a loss if it doesn't work. I got mine for $6.50. Your system has PCI-e, so it will support any GPU as long as there is enough power available. The GT710 is a garbage GPU, even the iGPU is better. You appear to be on a budget, so eBay is the place to get a GPU. You can get something significantly better than a 710 for about the same price. I also recommend a new PSU, yours is probably approaching the end of it's usable life.

Cheap Q8300 (around 15% faster than Q6600, while using less power. Better GPU (GT 710 is never worth it, this is GTX580. It is around 560% faster at around the same price.
