Hello, I have a System with these Specs and I wanna Upgrade it:
CPU: Intel Pentium G2020
GPU: Intel HD Graphics Ivy Bridge
RAM: 2x2GB = 4GB - DDR3-1333
Motherboard: Gigabyte H61M-S2PV rev 2.2
Windows 7 SP1 x64

I want to Upgrade my GPU to "NVIDIA 9800GT" and add another 4GB to my RAM.

  1. So if I upgrade my GPU and RAM to that things I Wrote before, Will anything Match My System?
  2. Do I need another 4GB DDR3-1333 to have 8GBs of RAM?
  3. Will GTA V Run Smoothly on Lowest Settings and 1360x768 Resolution if I Upgarde my PC?

Will it run GTA 5? Doubt it. That game really needs a quad core. And the 9800gt is ancient. I would even say it's unplayable if you get a 256MB 9800GT.

They are upgrades so as long as you aren't spending much if any money then go for it. But these parts are ~15-20 years old. They aren't going to run modern games well at all.

But the Minimum Sysreqs for GTAV is 9800gt (the one I'm Planning to Buy), Intel Q6600 (which Mine is Better), 6 GBs of RAM (I Wanna increase my RAM to 8/6GB) and 1360x768 Resolution with Lowest Settings. So the Game Should Run with around 30-40 FPS (Which isn't very Bad...). P.S. Will Upgarding my PC causes any Trouble with Hardware Like Bottlenecking or it'll Work Fine?

Recommended Specs
  • OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1
  • Processor: Intel Core i5 3470 @ 3.2GHZ (4 CPUs) / AMD X8 FX-8350 @ 4GHZ (8 CPUs)
  • Memory: 8GB
  • Video Card: NVIDIA GTX 660 2GB / AMD HD7870 2GB
  • Sound Card: 100% DirectX 10 compatible
  • HDD Space: 72GB
Minimum Specs
  • OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1, Windows Vista 64 Bit Service Pack 2* (*NVIDIA video card recommended if running Vista OS)
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs) / AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core Processor (4 CPUs) @ 2.5GHz
  • Memory: 4GB
  • Video Card: NVIDIA 9800 GT 1GB / AMD HD 4870 1GB (DX 10, 10.1, 11)
  • Sound Card: 100% DirectX 10 compatible
  • HDD Space: 72GB

I can only say that running a 9800GT, 512MB on a AMD FX-6100 @3.3GHz was fine, and I suspect that running a 9800GT, 1GB on a G2020 @2.9GHz would yield fairly similar results.

It's not going to play silky-smooth on the minimum spec hardware, but it will be playable, I suppose.

With the vintage of hardware you're dealing with, here, you aren't going to get much more than a shrug of passing interest over this. GTA-V will be 6 years out of the box by September, and everybody seems to have moved-on. I don't even see the kind of buzz they used to have over the upcoming release of VI, either, so the franchise has probably seen better days. It looks like it's time to fill-in the grave and leave some flowers on the headstone.

You're probably at the point of just trying it to see what you get, quite honestly.
