will my windows 10 downloadwork after windows 10 will be paid?

so i am on 7 right now, and i just downloaded windows 10 but i don'twanna install it right now. if i just save the windows 10 download, will it still work after windows 10 will be paid?

If you reserved it, you should be able to install it any time. You have about a year at least, anyway. Some people think it might be available more than a year though.

My guess would be no. The windows 10 installer doesn't have a date associated with it. I willing to bet the date is taken from when the windows 10 key is activated online. Basically in a year they will simply stop activating free upgrade keys.

So, I was wrong, I guess "reserved" doesn't really mean reserved forever. From the Windows 10 FAQ on Microsoft.com

"To take advantage of this free offer, you must upgrade to Windows 10 within one year of availability. Once you upgrade, you have Windows 10 for free on that device."

You can also revert back to Windows 7 if you don't like 10. So, in order to guarantee that you can install Win 10 a year from now, you should install it at least once on the PC you want to put it on eventually then go back to 10 - if you think you won't do it until at least a year from now.

You must upgrade before July 29 2016. It will work 'forever' after that.

All your games? Unknown, but most of them should work no problem.
