My ram stick says it's 3000mhz, and my motherboard also supports up to 2933, but whenever i go above 2666, it just won't post. Anyone know why?
Also, my CPU is i5-10600, and it supports 2666mhz, but i've heard you should be able to run higher speeds than the CPU specs.

What's your motherboard and ram stick configuration?

Which slots are populated and how are you trying to set 3000?
My motherboard is ASUS B460 PRIME PLUS.
I have installed the memory sticks in recommended slots, which is DIMM A2 and B2.

I have XMP mode enabled, and when set to auto memory speed, it chooses 2133mhz.

Also, on the manual of the motherboard, it says 10th gen i7/i9 will support from 2133 and up to 2933mhz. Others will run maximum 2666mhz. But if this is true, there is no point for 10th gen users to buy more than 3000mhz ram sticks?
