[SOLVED] Will not start up in any way shape or form

Hello,
i have a mac and it was running just fine but then it shut down on me i was able to get back to the desk top by shaking the mouse and was able to log everything off just fine and log off by the menu then the shut down option but now it will not restart i dont even get a noise for start up and no light for any kind of hope why is this ?

Could be a lot of things. Work your way through the troubleshooting guide from Apple.

More info on the system please, it sounds like a faulty power supply though, try unplugging it from the wall for a couple of minutes and plugging it in again to see if you have any life.
