Will overclocking my CPU increase FPS in PuBG?

GPU - EVGA - GeForce GTX 960 4GB FTW ACX 2.0+

CPU - Intel - Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz

I run PuBG at low settings and I receive an estimated 30-50 fps, I wish to play the game at higher settings and was wondering if an overclocked CPU would be the fix (PS: I have never overclocked anything ever so I'm a bit stingy).

Not sure if this matters, but I have DDR3 8GB Ram.

Thank you for your time :)!

Your motherboard is locked so unfortunately you cant overclock your CPU. While this isn't fully overclocking the GPU you can download a program such as MSI Afterburner and adjust the fan curve to have the fans run at a faster speed during higher loads. From there I would adjust the power limit a little bit and let Nvidia GPU Boost do it's thing. It will increase the boost speed and hopefully improve your FPS at least a few FPS. The GPU should run better unless it starts hitting high temps above 85C which it will start throttling performance to avoid damage but as long as you have good airflow and a reasonable room temp your 960 should stay fairly cool.

It may help but I still think there's some more performance optimization that needs to be done with PUBG before it runs smooth. As long as your motherboard supports overclocking, you have a decent CPU cooler and PSU then it's worth a shot. I would also suggest overclocking that GTX 960.

The Intel Temperature Guide by Computronix covers everything you'll need to know about overclocking that i5.

And there's guides online to overclock your 960.

This is my computer - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KHGkrH

If you could lead me into the right direction I'll be very thankful, but should I OC my GPU or CPU? And how? I watched the GPU video but I feel like I'll mess something up with the "balance".
