Will plugging both molex and 3pin case fan to psu and motherboard cause a short?

Was building a fresh pc and accidentally gave one case fan 2 power sources. Powered it up, everything is on but no boot. Could that cause my motherboard to short?

because you use 2 power source one from board and the other from psu and the made system acting as a short on power use only one of these or you might have to get new parts .

Unlikely, and even if it did the likelihood of damage is low. Shorting many times can only cause a no boot condition. Its time to breadboard. Pull the motherboard and try and boot outside the case with nothing connected except 1 stick of ram and the GPU.
