Will r9 290 support direct x 12 and if it doesnt what will that mean?

I am worried that next year if d x 12 comes out i wont be able to play direct x 12 games on my r9 290

You will AMD stated all GCN cards will support DX12. Some of the newer subsets will need new hardware but by then you will probably need an upgrade anyway.
