Will Raid Storage Help Significantly in Gaming?

I was wondering if RAID storage was important, or if it was something i didn't really need for a gaming rig. I was going to go with 2 Samsung EVO 250gb SSDs, or one 250gb ssd with a 1tb secondary hard drive. Which would be better for gaming?

I went from a fast seagate 7200 rpm drive to a raid 0 array with the seagate and a fast WD 1.5TB drive on my game machine (old i7-920 based). I did not see a real world difference. Benchmarks did run faster. I didn't try any stopwatch tests for boot. I later replaced the raid 0 array with a 480GB intel 730 SSD. The SSD made a slight difference, not huge. Things like entering a battle in world of tanks got faster. Actual gameplay was unchanged even with the SSD.

You results might be different than mine if you typically have several workloads running at the same time. I don't. Or if you are short on memory (with lots of memory and spinning disk windows preloads the programs you run most often so you do not need to do as many disk IO operations).
