Will replacing the space bar only fix resistance or does the whole keyboard have to be replaced

I have an Acer Aspire laptop. The space bar works correctly only in the middle. I disassembled it and put it back again, the mechanism seems fine. But you have to press in the middle to get it to register. Can that be fixed with a single key replacement?

I don't want to replace the entire keyboard to fix one key.

when you removed the key was there a single sensor/switch for the spacebar or was there a switch on each side? is the spacebar key flexible( when removed) at all?

I'm thinking that the key itself is flexing and requires a press directly above the switch to register. if it is bending replace the key if you can

The plastic sensor thing is in the center
