Question Will RTX2080 Ti work on Thinkstation P320?

Hi guys,

I want to put a Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti GPU on my Lenovo Thinkstation P320 but I am not sure if it would be compatible.

I reached out to Lenovo support and they told me they only recommend the NVS 310, 315 and Nvidia Quadro P400, P600, P1000, P2000 and P4000 card only - to be used.

However, when I checked the specification for the card (Page 9: https://www.nvidia.com/content/geforce-gtx/GEFORCE_RTX_2080Ti_User_Guide.pdf) and the workstation (https://www.lenovo.com/in/en/workstations/thinkstation-p-series/ThinkStation-P320/p/33TS3TPP320) - it seems the GPU should work because the motherboard has a PCIe x16 port.

Please help me out. Thanks in advance.

In theory yes the system meets the specs to run a 2080, newer chipset and the correct slot. If it will actually work though, up to the motherboard setup. Does the power supply have enough wattage and the correct PCIe power cables?
