Will Running a Guest Network On the Same Channel Cause Interference

My wireless router allows me to set up a secondary SSID in addition to the primary SSID and allows different passwords for each. I have the two SSIDs isolated so they can't talk to each other so my guests cannot access my home network but will have access to the internet.

The wireless router does not allow me to set the secondary SSID to a different channel than the primary. So my question becomes, will running the same wireless router with two Isolated SSIDs on the same channel cause interference like running two separate wireless routers will, or is it technically the same signal, just with two names?

Thanks!

Solution
no it wont cause any more reduction it will be like 3 users are on the same network sharing bandwidth, except that they are isolated to there own "network". SO same bandwidth usage just spread between two SSID's. It will use the same bandwidth as if they were connected to your main network.
Same signal just isolated from each other. But if you allow traffic on your guest network it WILL interfere with the speeds your getting depending on how many people are on your "guest" and what there doing.

Will it be any more reduction in speed than if they were on the main network though? I realize the bandwidth will be divided up with the more devices, but will it cause any more of a reduction by having them isolated than just running one SSID would with the same number of devices?

For instance, if I have two guests on the guest network and I'm on the main network, that's three total. Will this setup cause any more reduction in speed than all three being on the main network?
