the 1400 has a little bit on top of the i3 but not much. Once smt is disabled I dunno whats gonna happen. I can't find any 1400 benchmarks with smt disabled. then there's the optimization question.

this is my current build. let me know what you think. Not rolling in dough. I want a reasonably quiet 7200 rpm hd but the hitachi is out of stock. I heard a lot of the other hds in that range are loud or unreliable.

all we really needed is a test with only 4 cores of a ryzen.

But it needs to be four cores on the same CCX (assuming R3s will be a single CCX die and inter-CCX comms makes a significant difference in some benchmarks) and I don't think that this can currently be done as I don't think you can disable a CCX (or all the cores or threads on a specific CCX).
