Will Ryzen 5 1600 pair with ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0?

Looking to upgrade to Ryzen 5 1600. Wondering if it will work on my ASROCK 970 Extreme3 R2.0 mobo or do I need to upgrade that as well?

I'm using this for gaming.

No it won't Ryzen is AM4 platform that board is AM3+ platform , not compatible.

RYZEN needs new board and DDR4 memory modules.
