I see Asus have engineered the 1st 144hz 4k screen @27"

https://www.asus.com/uk/Monitors/ROG-SWIFT-PG27UQ/
I
have been looking at the new gorgeous looking NZXT cases H200i, H400i etc.
Now a screen capable of more than 60hz @ 4k is available, is SLI 1080ti's going to give me 100hz-ish or horsepower, or should i settle with a single 1080ti, until there is a single card available to deliver 144hz@4k?
If SLI is worth it, then id get 2x 1080ti EVGA hydrocoppers, and run a loop on a Matx board and case.

Solution
Generally SLI doesn't scale well with most newer games, some games will even perform worse than a SLI setup. Also not to mention all the screen tearing and other side effects you get from SLI.
A single GTX 1080 TI can barely keep up 60 FPS at 4K with high settings in AAA games, so there is no way SLI can keep 144+ FPS.
It's a waste of money and you also need a higher wattage PSU which again is more expensive.

depends

games like csgo and overwatch sure

anything harder to run? not without seriously sacrificing settings, so g-sync is a must which sure enough that monitor has covered

you then also must consider your cpu, an intel i7 setup would be required
and there is also the downsides to sli to think about

you can increase your fps by reducing the quality setting anyways. you can sacrifice maximum settings to get better fps.

I personally dont like SLI much .. get the best card allways and wait for the next one .. better than SLI.

the other reason I dont like SLI , is that you will lose alot of money after 2 Gens , and I mean ALOT of Money .. the GTX 780 ti are selling for $200 now , .. just 2 Gens old.. $1000 loss if you choose SLI ($700x2)

The GTX 1060 is faster than the GTX 780 ti today

well that's progress. if the pace is not changing next year we will get 1070 to 1080 performance in sub $250 range.....

i would be using 8700k OC'ed to 5ghz. 2x16gb G.skill trident Z rgb 3600. 512GB samsung M.2 Pro
I know a single card is better than 2, but 2x 1080ti's are cheaper than a P6000, which Linus assumed they used at CES when they unveiled the screen.

P6000 is not a gaming card . it is wrong to compare P6000 with GTX 1080 ti ...
