Will slightly different RAM serial numbers work on the same PC?

I have 1 ram card that is m378b5673eh1-ch9 and another that is m393b5673eh1-ch9. Would this work on a desktop computer if I combine them?

No one is ECC and other one is Non-ECC. they don't work together.

How do I know if one is ECC? Do I need to use the same exact ram with the same exact serial number?

When I searched the second ram google gave me a couple of websites selling ECC ram. Well does it say ECC or non-ECC on the sticker?
BTW which motherboard and cpu do you have?
The ram you said first :m378b5673eh1-ch9 is non ECC.
The ram you said latter:m393b5673eh1-ch9 is ECC.
They wont work together and I can only recommend memory if I know your cpu and motherboard model.

I don't know my motherboard model but my could is a i3.

Then I recommend using only m378b5673eh1-ch9(don't combine both as they should not work together). does the other ram work in your computer?

I don't know. I was thinki g about upgrading my ram but I wanted to make sure. Can I buy a ram with a different serial number it is non-ECC and combined it with the other non-Ecc ram?

Yes you can combine different serial number rams if they are non-ECC rams.

Yes you can(some systems are picky about rams(e.g. dell)).
