will spdif to 3.5mm work on xbox one

Hi,
will spdif to 3.5mm work on xbox one.I am looking to buy desktop speakers with 3.5mm input(these are cheaper than rca input speakers).My question is, if i connect my xbox one to the speakers via spdif to 3.5mm wire will I get sound output.

If it's active and it has a DAC, that supports xbox's digital signal type [I would need to google for this one], than yes, it should work. Depends on what sort of formats does Your converter support. Can You type here the converter name/model/type?

I was gonna go for the Logitech ls21 without any dacs

Hi there chirufan1. Hmm, both x-box 360 and xbox one support exclusively s/pdif interface, therefore will not work with analogue speakers. You either need a receiver, that will convert the signal, or dac interpart, or digital speakers, with s/pdif input connector.

Very good choice for You is getting the eSynic® DAC Digital SPDIF Optical Coaxial Toslink to Analog Stereo RCA L/R 3.5mm Jack Audio Converter Adapter or native digital speakers, like logitech Z906, or others with s/pdif input.

This one works great with xbox 360 and xbox one. Tested it on both systems.

Hi there. Yes it does, but Your speakers go 3,5mm jack so why going via coaxial?

yeah the brand you mentioned above is not available in India and the ones that are available are over my budget.
my solution costs 2500 where as your system costs 4500 with the dacs available in India

Suzuki - not all TVs support HDMi > Analogue pass through to 3,5mm, and also quality is like hyper crap :/

my monitor does not have a hdmi. I'm using HDMI to dvi adapter. im going to get audio from my xbox one spdif port.so uplink-svk. my audio plan will have crappy audio?

chirufan1 - if You use my solution [with converter I recommended], You're gonna have excellent quality. In Your solution it should be "fine", but there's the coaxial one. You have coaxial input somewhere? Because it's inter-section, that's not necessary :/

The Xbox One have HDMI passthrough. There honestly shouldnt be a problem. On my old 360 I used a HDMI to TV and RCA to 3.5 adapter and I had no problems with audio.

chirufan1 - there are no active speakers with built-in aplifier and S/PDiF connector. They all rate from around 200 euro/dollars.

Very good are Logitech Z906. My personal favourite are older Logitech Z-5500, which I find heavily superior towards Z906, but not as nice.

decided to go with spdif out from xbox one to > toslink to rca adapter to > rca to 3.5mm female to > logitech z150.
Am i good to go with this setup.

If You can't go toslink [S/PDiF] to 3,5mm, than it's the best shot You've got. I see no reason why it shouldn't work, but I also can't confirm it, since I never had it converted this way. I only used toslink/s/pdif to 3.5 mm converter, that I posted You.
