I got a second hand and old pc from my office and was thinking to give it a boost in performance by replacing old processor INTEL PENTIUM G630T with I5 3470 refurbished.

Motherboard - PEGATRON IPXSB-DM - LGA 1155 H61 CHIPSET

I checked the official website of HP but it shows all 2nd Generation Processors in upgrade section so should i go for 3 rd gen processor or not.
I5 3470 support socket LGA 1155 same as old one and also H61 Chipset.
I googled a lot but cannot results
Here's the link of
Old Processor
(Intel Pentium G630T)- https://ark.intel.com/content/www/u...entium-processor-g630t-3m-cache-2-30-ghz.html
New processor (i5 3470) -

Motherboard( Pegatron IPXSB-DM) - Desktop PC (HP Pavilion P2-1155IL) -
THANKS

EDIT -
1)Also old processor is 35w while new one is 77 w and my pc don't have discrete GPU
2)My PC don't have PSU i think so. It uses an adapter with a big box in between the chord rated with 90 W like these - https://www.google.com/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwi308ycwafnAhURJSsKHQ9hD2wYABAIGgJzZg&ae=1&sig=AOD64_3PXuxTVW7XaoQxpvFtM023WS9HTA&ctype=5&q=&ved=2ahUKEwiGncWcwafnAhUdyzgGHVXVDvIQwg96BAgNEAw&adurl=https://www.amazon.in/HP-Dv6-6135dx-Dv6-6167cl-Dv7-6154nr-Dv7-6157cl/dp/B00DBRWSWM/ref=asc_df_B00DBRWSWM/?tag=googleshopmob-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=397193462588&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=176359391162806388&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1007805&hvtargid=pla-837167012520&psc=1&ext_vrnc=hi

I would not. I do not see any evidence that that motherboard has every been given BIOS support for 3rd gen Ivy bridge processors. Since this was mainly an OEM use motherboard, it is even more unlikely that it was or ever would have been since OEMs tend to want to see users buy a new system rather than simply upgrade the CPU.

I see only 2nd Gen support for i3 and lower on the HP/Compaq product support listings for that motherboard so I'm not sure I'd even try a 2nd gen i5 or i7 on that board. There's a good chance it did not have good enough VRMs and power delivery to support those higher end CPUs.

Thanks WolfShadw and DarkBreeze for helping me.
My Motherboard has tdp of 35 W so no way it can support i5 3470 with tdp of 77w. It supports only 'T' models of processors with TDP of 35w. So i will keep it as it is and will buy new system in near future. Thanks again.

Sure thing man. Yes, that is what I was saying. It can't support the TDP of the higher end i5 and i7 processors but any of the lower TDP models like the i3 or Pentiums should be fine.

For light gaming, an i3 is ok. It's kind of old but if your expectations are realistic, for now at least, it should do ok.

My motherboard doesnot support tdp over 35w so i have to go with 't' models of processors. Also i can't find refurbished i3 2120t on shopping portal so will stick to my laptop and will by new system later instead of buying a new processor.
