I am about to upgrade my 4 year old system and I 'think' my current PSU will be ok, but I would sleep better having someone way more knowledgeable than I verify that it will be ok.

The components upgraded are the CPU: from Ryzen 7 3700X to Ryzen 7 5800X, and GPU: from EVGA FTW2 GAMING iCX GeForce GTX 1070 ti to XFX Speedster SWFT 309 Radeon RX 6700 XT.

Thank you : )

Would help to know what the current PSU is (brand, make and model#).

You're upgrading from a 65watt processor to a 105watt processor and from a graphics card that recommends at least a 500watt PSU to a graphics card that recommends at least a 650watt PSU. I'd say that unless you have a quality 750watt PSU, you're going to want to upgrade that before making any other changes to your system.

Seasonic is a decent brand. Even so, with the upgrades you intend, you're borderline. If it were me, I'd opt for a 750 watt Seasonic power supply to replace your current one. I wouldn't want to drop $550 in upgrades only to have the power supply fail and possibly damage one of my new components.

Thank you. Well I may upgrade the GPU first then and see if the % utilization is less than high 90s to 100%.

While monitoring system temps, I noticed that the area labeled CPU package was getting up in the mid 60s. While the CPU itself ran around 50 degrees. Is that typical or cause for concern?

What are you using to monitor temps?

For the CPU, MB and CPU package I use an ASUS app that came with the MB called fan xpert4.

For the GPU, again an app that came with the card from EVGA, Precision X1.

I was also using the W11 task manager to monitor loads and FPS.

Fan Expert IV is a fan curving that's part of AI Suite III which is pretty well optimized & Precision X1 is a cheap knockoff of Afterburner now that it's on Steam. Power recs aside; long as temps don't spike too high your pretty much managed.

Thanks guys, I am still blown away that I don't need a new PSU.... You are sure?

Ummm...
