Hi guys,
was planning to get the ryzen 1700 for both video editing and gaming.
I've reading and watching around and saw that ram speed and timing will help it with gaming side.
If I were to get the aforementioned motherboard would it be able to handle 3200mhz ram.
The ones I am looking at are the ripjaws 3200mhz CAS15 and the Corsair Vengeance 3200Mhz cas 15 or 3000 of the same.
Would I need to underclock it to 2933 or 2666?
the 3000mhz is actually around 40$ cheaper where I am (AUS) so should I just get 3000mhz instead?
Note: all sets are 2 DIMMS
Thanks in advance.

I have a similar issue. I wrote tor Asus support and will let you know the outcome but so far max I can get out from my 2x8 Corssair Vengeance (CMK16GX4M2B3200C16) is 2666Mhz with this board.

Almost no ram will work at 3200Mhz on this board, even if it was designed to work at that speed. Even in the QVL list you'll find only 1 pair that will, and that is probably only a single-dimm configuration as well. Plus, it's super expensive and pretty much sold out everywhere.

I have the same ram as Cooker_75, and it too will not go beyond 2666Mhz. After some research it turns out nobody is able to push much further beyond that due to limitations in the Asus' bios.

It might be better with bios updates, but don't hold your breath. I'd avoid this board.

Im still looking around :). At my local store it is a lot cheaper than any ATX board. If I were to go for the cheapest ATX X370 board it would cost about another 100$ AU. Ill keep looking for now, thanks 😀

Here is the response form Asus support regarding Prime B350 plus mobo and high frequency ram support.
"Please note that Ryzen has issues all over with overclocking memory support, its just not ASUS and we are cooperating with AMD to try to solve as much as possible with this but we cannot guarantee that specific ram modules will work in the future
Keep an eye out for eventual bios updates"
