Will the AMD A8-7600 work fine with the AMD R7 260x?

Hey guys. I'm planning to build a budget mid-range gaming system with these:
-AMD A8-7600 FM2+
- 2x 4GB Kingston HyperX Fury 1866MHz RAM
-MSI A58M-E33
-Ice Edge Mini FS V2.0.
-HIS Radeon R7 260x iCooler 1GB DDR5

Now, I must tell all of you that I'm very new to this (maybe a little bit of understanding, but not enough) and I just switched from Console (PS3) to PC for mainly the fact that the PS3 is dead and I have to pay for more to play online / use online services in the PS4. I also love playing Dota 2 Reborn and other PC Games.

Back to topic, I've been researching for 2 months for my build and I've come up with this build. I think the Mobo, RAM, and Cooler are fine but what about the APU/GPU?

Yes, I know about the APU having integrated graphics but it is the only affordable CPU/APU for me (as said before, on a tight budget.), so I've decided to go with it. I can also benefit from the Quad-Core and Integrated Graphics.

In a local store nearby, they're putting the R7 260x on sale. I've also done my research on that and I have decided to get it (since it levels between the GTX 750 and GTX 750 Ti)

For this thread, I have multiple questions:
1. For playing games like CS:GO, Killing Floor 2, Dota 2 Reborn, what range of fps would I get in Ultra settings in
a. AMD A8-7600 Graphics
b. R7 260x 1GB DDR5

2. If I am only to build a mid-range gaming system, is it neccessary and worth my money to buy the R7 260x in addition?

3. Would the integrated graphics and r7 260x do "crossfire" or whatever that is? I've read about it but never really understood anything.

4. Should I just go with a PS4 instead? (Serious question. I've heard a new core was unlocked and performance was significantly improved)

There is a rather large large difference between the FX 6300 and A8-7600. The A8 is a quad core and the 6300 is a hex core. Not to mention the 6300 has 8mb of L3 cache and the A8 has none. The 2 might be similar in performance...
1. I've not played those games except Dota 2. The r7 260x is a beast of a card for its price.
a. The A8 will weep and tremble in the shadow of those games. You will be able to play on that GPU but certainly not at ultra.
b. the R7 260x is more than capable of handling those games at high settings. Ultra I'm unsure. I''ve used the r7 260x for a year now however it was a 2gb version as opposed to your 1gb. My card has since recently been replaced by a GTX970.

2. If you're on a budget the r7 260x is a great card. However if you can opt for a current generation card like a 900 from Nvidia or a 300 series from AMD, do so.

3. They will not crossfire. I think the highest end card the A8 and A10 can Dual Graphics mode (crossfire) with is a Radeon HD 6670.

4. If your looking for something just to game on and don't want the trouble of compatibility issues and subpar performance for budget rigs compared to consoles, then I would go with a console. But here's something consoles can't do. Upgrade and evolve. Yes they can change for more effecient components but there's only so much a console can do before becoming something else entirely. At that point manufactures will make a new console to earn your money. I know you said the A8 was what you can afford but if you can try and grab one of the FX processors like a FX4300 and a new motherboard. Your upgrade options expand much farther with that socket type.

1a. Uhm, please elaborate? I've seen some videos on Youtube where they maxed dota 2 reborn on 30-45fps (something I can cope with since I was console gamer). What factors, aside from the APU, affect the performance here? RAM? Mobo?

1b. Not on ultra? I was expecting much, but okay. Thanks for your answer.

2. I'm currently on a... HD5450 (please don't judge)

3. So should I just go with the R7 260x? By that I mean by ignoring the iGPU in the a8-7600 and full-on r7 260x.

4. Yes thank you for not being one of those immature console bashers. Anyways, the FX series is out of my total budget (here in the Philippines, it costs $135 while the A8-7600 costs $88. That's a HUGE jump in price, and I think I would rather go for an intel processor if the price is $120 and above.) This build will also cost me the RAM and Mobo.

A little extra tip: I'm only 16 and I've been saving since October to build this (I don't get a lot of money). So maybe I'm looking for an entry-midrange gaming system.

Sorry for the late reply.

1. The faster the ram you get the better the iGPU will perform. The motherboard will have to support faster ram speeds as well. Same with the CPU/APU.

3. Yes get the r7 260x. The 260x will perform better than the A8 + HD 6670 in Dual Graphics. When I moved from my A10-5800k to the R7 260x I saw a 500% increase in performance.

4. Here in the states the difference between the A8 and FX 4300 is $2-$10. Going with an AM3+ motherboard will save you money in the long run as it has more upgrade options compared to the FM2 and FM2+. FM2 socket right now only supports A series APUs which are all dual and quad core. There are a few Athlons that you can plug in as well. The AM3+ socket supports the FX series which go up to 8 core CPUs. Not to mention the FX series has more cache than the A series. But if you're tight for cash and your only option is the A series, then there shouldn't be a problem.

No worries, I'm not buying until mid-late December; that's when the sales and promos are up.

Would you cope with me for one last question?
What if I were to buy an A8-7600 rather than an FX series CPU, use it's iGPU for the meantime, and then buy an R7 260x or GTX750 Ti in 5-6 months? Would they pair up good? I heard that there's a very small difference in raw CPU performance between the a8-7600 and the fx-6300.

I'm not planning to dual-graphics this, but rather let it be a discrete GPU for the build.

There is a rather large large difference between the FX 6300 and A8-7600. The A8 is a quad core and the 6300 is a hex core. Not to mention the 6300 has 8mb of L3 cache and the A8 has none. The 2 might be similar in performance with single threaded applications but for multi threaded programs the 6300 will excel. With more cores you can more easily multi task.

Yeah you can stick with the iGPU for a while. I had my A10-5800k's iGPU running for a year before i got my R7 260x. Just don't expect to get any good graphics. Those iGPUs are only designed to meet the absolute bare minimum for games. Just enough to run them, perhaps at a lowered resolution.

I still use my A10-5800k. It's a quad core 3.8ghz. It still handles games fine except GTA5. My CPU can barely keep up with that game.
