Well I currently have an AMD Phennon II x6 1090t @ 3.2GHz and I was wondering if it would work with this motherboard. The motherboard says it an AM3+, but it also says its compatible with the Phennon II, and the 1090T is an AM3 socket. I read some of the reviews and it seems that many people have a 1090T and it works, but I just want to be sure before I buy it.

Thanks.

This motherboard supports AMD AM3 Phenom II/Athlon II/Sempron 100 series processors and AMD AM3+ CPUs in the new 32nm manufacturing process.

The CrossHair V Formula is based on the brand new AMD 990FX chipset, which support all current socket AM3 processors and future AM3+ based processors as well.

It is compatible.

If it's not too late and you already got the board, I would suggest you actually go for a Sabertooth 990FX unless you want to go quad single GPU cards. Sabertooth has a much higher stability and reliaility rate, and it costs less. The crosshair is a gamers board made specifically for top of the line gaming systems.

That looks like a really nice board, but I think I will still go with the Crosshair V because it has a lot of nice features that I think would really help me, such as the ROG Connect and the higher number of USB 3.0 ports, and the built in sound chip that the Crosshair V has is amazing (I can't stand poor sound), and the Intel LAN is also really nice. I think that the Crosshair V is definitely worth the extra $$$.

Thanks.
