When I first bought my pc it was a terrible prebuilt basic office computer so eventually, I started upgrading the parts on it to make it even resemble a gaming pc. My main issue is that I'm using ddr3 ram and I want to upgrade my motherboard but I'm not much of a tech guy so I was wondering if anyone could help me out.

My current specs
CPU
Intel Core i7 4790 @ 3.60GHz
RAM
16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 798MHz
MOBO
Dell Inc. 0KWVT8
GPU
4G NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980
HDD
1TB WD WD10EZEX
SSD
500GB Crucial CT480BX500SSD1

What I'm planning to upgrade

CPU
AMD RYZEN 5 3600 6-Core 3.6 GHz
MOBO
ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F
RAM
CORSAIR Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB
GPU
MSI GeForce RTX 2060

Are these upgrades valid? Like would the parts work together? And from what I understand when upgrading a motherboard the only parts you need to change are the CPU and ram please correct me if I'm wrong

Solution
You should be OK
Check that your ram is listed on the B450 mothertboard memory QVL - so it is compatible.

It won't work with a Dell power supply - different connectors. Buy a new power supply.
