Will the Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB 2400mhz work with the Gigabyte AB350 Gaming motherboard and Ryzen 5 2400g?

Hey there, I am in the works for building a new light gaming pc on a very cheap budget. However since reading up on the AB350 Gaming motherboard, I have heard some RAM isn’t supported by the motherboard and RAM because the BIOS or motherboard is too old or out of date with the newer RAM?? Anyway, The ram is Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB 2400mhz And the motherboard is Gigabyte AB350 Gaming. The CPU I intend to use is the Ryzen 5 2400g because of the budget I’m on. Will all this work together? Better to be safe than sorry when buying right?

If not, any other RAM recommendations would be great, preferably 8GB and the cheapest avalible.Along with any recommendations of Motherboards I can buy at a maximum of £80-£100 which will work with the Corsair RAM I have looked at or any other RAM suggested.


Any help would be greatly appreciated!

PS: (i should point out I already have the case,power supply and I intend to use the stock ryzen cooler)

Yes it would work, but you should get a 4x2 for extra performance or dual-channel.
Corsair Vengeance LPX is a great brand.

I used to have the AB350, and it is great. The BIOS is now updated at this time. A good board would be a Tomahawk or Asus.

Great! Would you happen to know anything about the MSI X370 GAMING PRO CARBON? It’s currently on sale for cheap right now so I was thinking of getting it hit not sure if a Ryzen 5 2400g will work without a BIOS update?

Also thank you for your recommendations! Would you happen to know any specifically that would work with the Ryzen 5 2400g and have the BIOS update done?

You'd need a BIOS update for the Carbon.

A popular board is the Asus - ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING.
