As you can guess, I will soon be building a pc, and I was wondering will 450 watts be enough for my rig. Im going for a gtx 1060 3gb, i5 6500 and 8 gb of ddr4 ram. The VS450 seems to be a decent cheap PSU, but I worry it dont be enough.
your worry was right but not because of the shortage, its about the quality.
can you afford the corsair cx450m or the seasonic s12ii 520w
really? I rather keep the price down but if its gonna break down on me in a couple of months, I rather invest an extra 15e and get a solid psu. What makes you think the vs450 is of poor quality?

bad voltage, low quality components , its the lowest grade in the corsair lineup.

Bro DO NOT listen to these people. you should be asking people who used the corsair vs psu like myself. i asked the same question once and i got the same replys as you did but i still brought the psu and guess what............it been working just fine for almost a year now .

There are better quality PSU's out there in around the same price range.
Better to get a higher quality unit, will last much longer in the long run and be much more reliable overall.
Don't cheap out on the PSU. After all it's the thing that are gonna supply a stable voltage to all your expensive and sensitive hardware.
At least spend $10 more on the half decent CX450m. I don't get why someone can recommend any of these cheap low quality PSU's.
The VS isn't the greatest in terms of quality but it's far from the worst and is plenty of power to run that setup.
yes thank you for saying that. i have the vs450 and its been running fine for almost a year now.
Come back after 6 or 7 years if it's still around and working.
I doubt it will last 3 years depending on load and up time.
Lol of course it wont last for more then 5 years but the way people are describing it as if the moment you plug it on to your PC it will blow up xD it not the best PSU for sure but its not crap like most people say it is. i got told that it wont even last for a week. well its been runig well for 6 months

It's really not a quality PSU.
Not the worst, but they are down there near the worst.
Really not one that I would trust unless it was a low end email machine build from used parts so it wouldn't be much of a loss.
But then I normally use one of my older (High Quality) units that I pulled due to age for those types of things. Would still be more stable and last longer than the VS.
