Hello Everyone, I'm trying to upgrade my Dell OptiPlex 780 DT to work fairly well for tasks like gaming. Below are my Specs without the upgrade.

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E8400 @3.00Ghz 2.99 Ghz

Ram: 4 Gb DDR3

GPU:Intel Q45/Q43 Express Chipset

I'm planning to get These Items:

CPU: AMD A6-6400K Richland 3.9GHz Socket FM2 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor

GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 5450 1 GB DDR3 HDMI/DVI-D/VGA PCI-Express Graphics Card

Will the CPU and GPU work with the rest of my build? If it doesnt, what should i get as a replacement? Thanks for taking your time to read this and have a Great Day!

Also you currently have an Intel chip, if you want to use AMD you will need a different motherboard.

You should identify:
1) What do you need
2) What do you desire
3) How much can you spend

You really need more RAM at least 8GB but 16 is better.
None of your components would really be worth keeping in terms of performance.

It just depends on your budget and what you really need to do. but if you are constrained, just get a better graphics card. The AMD CPU will not be noticeably faster than the core duo.

You will need to be realistic about your gaming expectations though as this is a very low spec machine.
